Job Title: Property Care Worker (Seasonal Outdoor Maintenance)

Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable, motivated Property Care Worker to provide seasonal outdoor maintenance and general property support for client homes across the Niagara region. The successful candidate will perform lawn care, snow clearing, garden upkeep, seasonal cleanup and basic exterior maintenance while respecting clients’ homes, privacy and safety. Access to a personal vehicle is required for travel between client locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform seasonal yard and property maintenance tasks, including:

    • Lawn mowing, edging, trimming and grass cleanup

    • Leaf raking and removal, garden bed tidying

    • Seasonal planting, mulching and basic pruning

    • Debris removal and disposal

  • Provide winter services as required:

    • Snow shovelling, de-icing and light snow clearing of walkways, stairs and porches

    • Salt/sand application to ensure safe access

  • Inspect exterior property areas and report minor repairs or hazards (e.g., loose handrails, broken steps) to supervisor

  • Assist with basic exterior cleaning: sweeping porches, power washing (if qualified/experienced), gutter cleaning (if within safe practice)

  • Transport tools and supplies to client sites using own vehicle

  • Arrive on time, communicate schedule changes promptly, and maintain professional conduct in clients’ homes

  • Follow health, safety and infection control protocols, including respecting client comfort and privacy

  • Maintain accurate time records and complete brief job notes after each visit

  • Communicate observed concerns regarding client safety, property condition, or required additional services to supervisor

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, property maintenance, or similar outdoor labour role preferred

  • Access to a reliable, insured personal vehicle and valid Ontario driver’s licence

  • Ability to transport equipment and supplies (up to moderate lifting requirements)

  • Comfortable performing physical tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Basic knowledge of lawn care, plant handling, safe use of garden tools and winter safety practices

  • Strong punctuality, reliability, and ability to work independently

  • Clear communication skills and a respectful, client-focused attitude

  • Vulnerable Sector Check (police background check) required prior to start

  • WHMIS training and basic workplace health & safety awareness preferred

  • First Aid/CPR certification an asset

  • Ability to follow direction and document work accurately

Working Conditions

  • Outdoor work in all seasons; protective clothing and PPE recommended

  • Travel between client homes in the Niagara region; mileage or travel allowance may be provided

  • Variable schedule depending on client needs; peak demand in spring/summer and winter months

  • Physically active role requiring lifting, bending, walking and standing for extended periods

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly pay: $18–$25, depending on experience and skills.
